Instant Pot Refried Beans from Scratch

So I love to cook but for me cooking isn’t always easy.  I have errands to run, a blog to run on top of this one plus other daily things.  So when I can cook in my Instant Pot and freeze some for a later date I jump on it.  So tonight I decided to make refried beans friends scratch.  I hope some of y’all make and you can save some for another meal.

Instant Pot Refried Beans

What you need.

2 lbs of dry pinto beans
2 tablespoons of oil
1 cup diced onion
2 cloves of garlic
10 cups water
3 teaspoons of salt
2 teaspoons of chili powder

How to Make

First, you will saute up your onions and garlic on the saute mode on your pressure cooker.
Once they are soft you will add the rest of the items in and close the lid.
Turn on manual mode and cook for 35 minutes
Once done and you release the pressure you will drain the water out.
You will leave about 2 1/2 cups of water in the pot.
Next, you will use an immersion blender or potato masher and you will smash till they have a
smooth refried bean consistency.
Next, you serve and eat.
