So making Instant Pot taco meat in my house is a must. We use it for so many different recipes from nachos to tacos and even enchiladas. So when I make I make enough for two meals in our house. Also I stretch 2 lbs out to a little over 3lbs buy using pinto beans. The recipe for pinto beans is here. I make those in bulk to and am able to freeze 4lbs a month. So follow my recipe below and you will have amazingly easy meat that you can use on a variety of recipes.
What you need
2lbs of half-frozen ground beef
1lb of frozen pinto beans
1 cup of salsa
1 cup of water or 1/2 cup if you want less liquid in the end.
some taco seasoning if you want
How to make
First, if you are wanting less liquid use 1/2 cup. If you are worried about the
amount note that when the pinto beans defrost you will gain more liquid helping you not get the burn notice on your pressure cooker.
Since my pinto beans are premade I already have enough seasoning but my husband
was using for tacos so I actually added a little taco seasoning on the top of mine.
So all I do is add in the cup of water on the bottom of my pot, then the salsa
then the blocks of frozen beef and pinto beans.
Close the lid and cook on manual/pressure cooker mode for 8 minutes. 10 minutes your ground beef is frozen solid.
Once the pressure beeps turn off and let the pressure naturally release for 10 minutes. Then you can open up the valve and let out any remaining pressure.
When you open the lid you will use a spatula or a tool like mine to chop up your meat.
Next, serve with whatever dish you want.
